Grand Forks, ND (WDAZ-TV) -A former Ms. Senior Nebraska and California is biking her way across seven states through the month of July to raise money for kids. She's also a concert pianist. Her goal is to raise money for music education.

Fargo, ND (WDAY-TV) - A 74 year old woman plans to pedal 4000 miles around the United States. Mrs. Senior Nebraska Patricia Starr stopped in Fargo on her way to Sioux Falls South Dakota. Her journey will cross seven states. Her mission is to raise money for music education and to raise awareness for senior bands across the country. Starr, a concert pianist, believes music is very important in children's lives and says we need to do what we can to keep it in our schools.

Mrs. Senior Nebraska, Patricia Starr, appeared on this morning's Fox Morning News in Washington, DC, discussing her upcoming 4,000 mile bike trip across the country where she will play in senior bands in order to raise money for music scholarships.
WASHINGTON - When she was 67-years-old, Patricia Starr gained national attention after riding her bike, coast to coast, to raise money for music education.
Now at age 78, the former senior beauty queen is about to embark on another big ride!

MADISON (WMSN) -- Barbara Barnett says she fell in love with the Fox hit show, "House" during its first season. Now she's a blogger and an author, because she followed her passion.
Barnett, a writer, started blogging mostly for fun at first. Then someone she knew suggested she contact blogcritics.com, so she did. They gave her a column which soon caught the attention of the Fox network who linked to one of her trivia quizzes and the next she knew, she had quite a following.
"It sort of snowballed and I've been writing the columns ever since," she said.
But it doesn't stop there. She is now, also co-editor of blogcritics and that caught the attention of an agent who suggested she write a book on the topic, so she did. Chasing Zebras, The Unofficial Guide to House, M.D. came out in November.
"It's kind of cool that my passion for the show and my love of writing just sort of, it's karma I guess!" Barnett says.
She encourages others to follow their passion, and says, "If you want something, you can't be afraid to ask. The worst they can do, is say no."

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) An upcoming book raises questions about the cause of the plane crash that killed Lubbock native Buddy Holly. Holly's music is said to have inspired music legends like the Beatles, Elton John, The Who, and many more. Holly, the Big Bopper, and Richie Valens died in the 1959 plane crash near Clear Lake, Iowa. The author of this new book comes to the same ultimate conclusion as investigators more than 50 years ago, but sheds new light on the last moments of the flight; and he stumbled upon a startling statement by the family that owns the wrecked plane.
